Intended for those already working in the fields of fitness or movement, the STOTT PILATES Intensive (Level 1) program focuses on expanding current knowledge while delivering complete instruction in STOTT PILATES principles and Essential and Intermediate exercises in a faster paced format. Each Intensive Level 1 program is further broken down into two modules to accomodate fitness professionals whose schedules or budgets do not allow them to enroll in the entire Level 1 course at one time. You can choose to take Module 1 alone and take Module 2 at a later time so that you can begin your STOTT PILATES education and join a group of elite instructors working around the globe.

Intensive Mat-Plus™ – IMP1

Module 1
Every Pilates program begins with a strong foundation in Matwork. Module 1 of this course helps builds
repertoire from the ground up. Learn countless modifications and core exercises. Develop cueing
strategies to create smooth transitions, techniques incorporating light accessories and sessions that achieve great results.

IMP Module 1 provides the solid foundation and skills needed to develop effective and motivating personal training programs. Learn to design and teach the Essential portion of the Level 1 repertoire, integrating light equipment and props to meet the specific needs of clients.

Instructors learn:

  • Workout composition for Essential-level personal training sessions
  • The STOTT PILATES Five Basic Principles
  • Flex-Band®, Fitness Circle® and Arc Barrel variations
  • Effective communication and observation skills
  • Verbal cueing and imagery strategies for performance enhancement and client motivation
  • Modifications for specific body types, postural issues and conditions
  • How to incorporate resistance equipment to support or intensify exercises
  • Theory and practice of postural analysis

Intensive Mat-Plus™  IMP2

Module 2
Every Pilates program begins with a strong foundation in Matwork. The second module of Intensive Mat-Plus builds on what was learned in Module 1, expanding repertoire into the Intermediate level. Learn numerous exercise modifications and variations to help progress clients and groups through the next level.

IMP Module 2 expands on the foundation developed in the first segment to develop effective and motivating personal training programs. Learn to design and teach sessions in the Intermediate portion of the Level 1 repertoire integrating light equipment and props to meet the specific needs of clients.

Instructors learn:

Intensive Reformer – IR1

Module 1
The Reformer is the most popular piece of equipment in Pilates. Learn how to use this highly versatile tool to program and instruct personal training and group classes with confidence using hundreds of spring-resistance exercises. This is for clients at an Essential level.

This course teaches how to design and instruct Essential Reformer workouts in a personal training and group setting for a range of clients. Learn a variety of modifications and variations to expand programming options.

Instructors learn:

  • Effective use of the Reformer to enhance torso stability and strength, peripheral conditioning, joint stability, flexibility, balance and coordination
  • How to develop programs for personal and group classes

Intensive Cadillac, Chair & Barrels – ICCB

The Cadillac, Chair, & Barrels course has been restructured into three separate modules to allow you to choose which element to take and when (they may be scheduled consecutively). Completion of all three modules below is required to be eligible for certification.

Intensive Cadillac – ICAD

ICAD prepares you to teach Level 1 (Essential and Intermediate) exercises on the Cadillac. By the end of this course you will be able to fine-tune personal and circuit training programs to meet a variety of clients’ conditioning goals with 125 exercises on the Cadillac Trapeze Table. Beyond the general course objectives, you will learn:

  • Effective use of the equipment to enhance torso stability and strength, peripheral extremity conditioning, joint stability, flexibility, balance and coordination
  • How to develop dynamic programs in a full studio environment
  • Essential and Intermediate exercises and variations
  • Effective communication and observational skills, verbal cueing and imagery for performance enhancement and client motivation
  • Modifications for specific body types, postural issues and conditions
  • Exercise layering related to effective program design

Prerequisites
IMP + IR or GM + XMP + GR + XRP

Duration
15 hours class instruction and supervised teaching
