Anatomy
Equilibrium offers a 26-hour anatomy course and a 6-hour anatomy workshop. Our anatomy courses cover the pertinent material required for STOTT PILATES certification. This course is mandatory for Comprehensive students and open to a limited number of students wanting to fulfill their anatomy prerequisite for intensive courses. The 6-hour anatomy workshop is valuable to take as part of a review process in anticipation of taking your certification exam and can also be taken to earn six continuing education credits.
A continuation of the Anatomy Workshop, the Functional Anatomy Course introduces you to the muscles, plus origins, insertions and actions that are required knowledge for the STOTT PILATES certification exam. Analyze the muscular emphases of STOTT PILATES exercises and develop your postural analysis skills.
Anatomy is offered three times a year and taught by Amy Kubo-Slowik, a STOTT PILATES Instructor Trainer and licensed physical therapist.

Comprehensive Program
Comprehensive courses provide the functional anatomy education and practical skills required to develop effective and motivating Mat and equipment-based fitness and post-rehab programs. The entire Comprehensive program is conducted over nine months, requiring a commitment of approximately 15 hours per week and a total of 100 hours apprenticeship. Comprehensive trainees are required to meet with Nancy Hodari, Education Director, in order to review requirements for this course and to select course dates.
CMR Comprehensive Matwork & Reformer
CMR students begin training in winter, summer, spring, or fall with our Anatomy course. Continue by attending Mat training followed by Reformer training with the Intensive students, therefore, start dates are selected from the Intensive Training calendar. In addition to weekend course hours, CMR trainees spend five to 10 hours per week in the studio completing required hours of Observation, Physical Review, Practice Teaching and Apprenticeship.
All of our STOTT PILATES training courses are held throughout the year at our satellite training studio, The Movement Center, in Ann Arbor, MI
In addition to STOTT PILATES training, The Movement Center offers Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis teacher training. Both the Gyrotonic and the Gyrokinesis teacher training consist of the following steps. First, take a few private sessions or classes to become familiar with the system and movement. Then begin your Pre-Training, a 24-28 hour course (usually over two consecutive weekends, but may also be done in six consecutive days) working with the movement for your own body. Within three months of completing Pre-Training begin your Foundation course (teacher training course) consisting of 60 hours (usually over 12 days) of further exploration and presentation of the material to clients, including verbal cueing and hands-on assisting. This is followed by a year of teaching as an apprentice, during which you will train with a master trainer for another 30 hours to refine and clarify your teaching techniques before attending a final three-day certification course for final certification.
