Crossover Program

Crossover courses were created to offer instructors additional opportunities for professional growth by helping them make the transition from private to group training and vice versa. Unlike our standard courses, crossover options are designed to act as a bridge between the Group program and the Intensive or Comprehensive programs.


COURSE DESCRIPTIONS

Crossover from Group SPX Mat-Plus
to Personal Training [XMP]

Designed for instructors who have already trained in the Group SPX Mat-Plus course and who want to move seamlessly from a group training environment to working with a private client.

Improve your observation skills, enhance your ability to notice postural deviations and working form in clients, and develop personal training workout routines tailored to specific individuals. Learn to conduct a postural analysis and review the repertoire keeping modifications for specific body types in mind. Differences between motivating and safely working out a private client versus group clients will also be covered. Following this course, students are eligible to take the Matwork exam of the Intensive or Comprehensive stream that tests private training knowledge and skills.

Crossover from Group SPX Reformer
to Personal Training [XRP]

This workshop is designed for instructors who have already trained in the Group SPX Reformer course and who want to learn the nuances of one-on-one training sessions.

Hone observation skills, enhance your ability to notice postural deviations and working form in clients, and develop personal training workout routines tailored to specific individuals. Learn to conduct a postural analysis and review the repertoire with modifications for specific body types in mind. Differences between motivating and safely working out a private client versus a group client will also be covered. Following this course, students are eligible to take the Reformer exam of the Intensive or Comprehensive stream that tests private training knowledge and skills.

Crossover from Intensive Mat-Plus Training
to Group Training [XMG]

Designed for instructors who have completed the STOTT PILATES Intensive or Comprehensive Mat-Plus training.

Enhance your group instruction skills enabling you to teach group matwork safely while keeping classes upbeat and motivating. Learn to conduct an orientation class designed specifically for clients entering group matwork classes. Instructors will leave with ten pre-designed Essential through Intermediate workouts ready to teach in a group environment. These incorporate small equipment (Flex-Band exercisers, Fitness Circle resistance rings and Toning Balls) and cover a variety of intensity levels. Following this course, students are eligible to take the Matwork exam of the Group SPX stream that tests group training knowledge and skills.

PREREQUISITES: IMP or CMR

DURATION: 6 hours

Crossover from Intensive Reformer Training
to Group Training [XRG]

Designed for instructors who have completed our Intensive or Comprehensive Reformer training.

Enhance your group instruction skills enabling you to safely teach a small group reformer session while keeping the class upbeat and motivating. You will also learn an orientation class designed specifically for clients who are entering group reformer classes. Instructors will leave ready to teach twelve pre-designed Essential through Intermediate workouts in a group environment, as well as a number of plyometric exercises performed on the Jumpboard. Following this course, students are eligible to take the Reformer exam of the Group SPX stream that tests group training knowledge and skills.

PREREQUISITES: IR or CMR

DURATION: 6 hours

GENERAL COURSE OBJECTIVES

How to apply STOTT PILATES biomechanical principles of core stability, peripheral mobility, breathing and alignment to therapeutic conditioning
Integration of core stability and peripheral mobility training for injury prevention and rehabilitation
Exercise essence, muscular initiation and movement sequencing
Modifications for specific body types, postural issues, injuries and conditions
Effective communication, visual skills, verbal cuing and imagery for performance enhancement and motivation


Certification is only awarded after successful completion of course and corresponding written and practical exams
