Intensive Courses
Designed for individuals with strong anatomy training minimum of three years teaching experience required and familiarity with this method of exercise certification awarded upon successful completion of a written and practical exam. The exam my be taken within six months of completion of course(s) taught by stott-certified instructor trainers
Intensive courses are offered four times a year; Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall.
All courses meet on weekends Fri 3:30pm-9pm; Sat 1pm-6:30pm; Sun 9am-2:30pm, unless noted with this icon

Crossover from Private to Group Training
Designed for instructors having completed Intensive or Comprehensive Matwork or Reformer courses, these courses hone your instruction skills to teach Pilates safely in a group environment while keeping classes upbeat and motivating. Learn to conduct an orientation class and leave with pre-designed Essential through Intermediate level group class workouts covering a variety of intensity levels.
After successful completion, students are eligible to take the Group SPX exam tests group training knowledge and skills.

Anatomy
|
|
Equilibrium offers a 26-hour anatomy course and a 6-hour anatomy workshop. Our anatomy courses covers the pertinent material required for STOTT PILATES certification. This course is mandatory for comprehensive students and open to a limited number of students wanting to fulfill their anatomy prerequisite for intensive courses. The 6-hour anatomy workshop is valuable to take as part of a review process in anticipation of taking your certification exam and can also be taken to earn 6 continuing educaton credits.

Anatomy is offered three times a year and taught by Amy Kubo-Slowik, a STOTT PILATES Instructor Trainer and licensed physical therapist.

A continuation of the Anatomy Workshop, the Functional Anatomy Course introduces you to the muscles, plus origins, insertions & actions that are required knowledge for the STOTT PILATES certification exam. Rehabilitation Program
The STOTT PILATES Rehabilitation program is specifically designed for licensed physical or occupational therapists, chiropractors and doctors of sports medicine. Four courses demonstrate how to integrate modified matwork and equipment based STOTT PILATES exercises appropriately into therapeutic conditioning.

Comprehensive Program
|
|
Comprehensive Courses
provide the functional anatomy education and practical skills required to develop effective and motivating mat- and equipment-based fitness and post-rehab programs. The entire Comprehensive Program is conducted over nine months, requiring a commitment of approximately 15 hours per week and a total of one hundred hours apprenticeship. Comprehensive trainees are required to meet with Nancy Hodari, Education Director, in order to review requirements for this course, and to select course dates.

CMR Comprehensive Matwork & Reformer
CMR students begin training in winter, summer, spring, or fall with our Anatomy course. Continue by attending mat training followed by reformer training with the Intensive students, therefore, start dates are selected from the Intensive Training calendar. In addition to weekend course hours, CMR trainees spend five to ten hours per week in the studio completing required hours of Observation, Physical Review, Practice Teaching, and Apprenticeship.

STOTT PILATES is recognized by the American Council on Exercise* as a Continuing Education Specialist. Earn 3.0 ACE CECs for Matwork course. Earn 5.2 CECs for Reformer course
PREREQUISITES
The intensive courses above are recommended for certified fitness instructors, personal trainers, and other fitness & health professionals who want to expand their knowledge and enhance their business. Applicants must have, at least three years experience teaching fitness, dance or movement, familiarity with the works of Joseph Pilates, formal anatomy training and a working knowledge of muscle origins, insertions and functions, in order to attend the course.

expanded apprenticeship program For the first time students enrolled in Intensive Courses have the opportunity to do an apprenticeship at Equilibrium. The benefit of the apprenticeship is that it provides the real-life teaching experience necessary to pass the examination. The studio will provide, to a limited number of Intensive trainees, the invaluable experience of working with everyone from world-class athletes to the injured and handicapped.
